Biomimetic masks

Amidst the contagious joy of Carnival, we invite participants to explore the incredible diversity of nature to inspire the creation of their own festive masks. During this workshop, participants will delve into the wonders of biodiversity and discover how the functions, shapes and materials found in nature can be the perfect source of inspiration for their carnival creations.

 

Projected stories “Animal Carnival”

12 FEB | 14:30 - 17:00

We continue to celebrate Carnival with a workshop where music meets visual art in an interactive experience. Inspired by the iconic musical piece "The Carnival of the Animals", participants will embark on a creative journey to visually reconstruct the stories behind Saint-Saëns' captivating melody. With colorful cutouts, participants will be encouraged to bring their visual interpretation to life by creating a collective visual experience.

 

Geometric costumes

13 FEB | 10:00 - 12:30

In this workshop, families will have the opportunity to experience the versatility of geometry, combining shapes and colors to create truly unique costumes. Using geometric modules, we will have a fun and creative experience, stimulating imagination and collaboration between parents and children. At the end, participants will have the opportunity to parade their creations on a very special catwalk, showing the public the incredible result of their collaboration and artistic expression.

 

Large-scale constructions

14 FEB | 10:00 - 12:30

We will explore creativity and develop teamwork skills as participants plan and build large structures with cardboard blocks. In the second phase of the workshop, we will add an extra layer of magic, recreating the three-dimensional spaces built with plan drawings and games of light!

 

Projected Stories “Constructed Geographies”

14 FEB | 14:30 - 17:00

To conclude our Carnival workshop journey, participants will have the opportunity to create unique territories that will complement the large-scale constructions carried out during the morning. Participants will be challenged to imagine and design landscapes that will serve as the perfect backdrop for their constructions and using projection techniques, they will create the narrative for their constructed geographies in an immersive way.

Extensions:

 

Casa da Arquitectura Educational Service team ensures the reception of children registered during extended hours, at no additional cost.
The reception of children registered for the morning workshops begins at 8:30 am, with the workshops taking place from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.
Children registered for the afternoon workshops are welcomed until 5:30 pm, with the workshops taking place from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
All-day reception for registered children takes place from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm.

Lunch:

 

Participants can bring lunch from home or add lunch service for €6/day.
We strongly recommend that participants bring a snack for the morning break and another for the afternoon break.

Children aged 6 to 12.
