Casa da Arquitectura and Tourism of Porto and North Portugal sign Collaboration Protocol
Nuno Sampaio, Executive Director of Casa da Arquitectura, defends the importance of this “institutional cooperation because of the promotion of architecture as an attraction factor of the Portuguese territory, seizing the international notoriety that Portuguese architecture has, and the contemporary architectural heritage richness”.
Luís Pedro Martins, TPNP’s president, puts in evidence the advantages of this kind of intersectional cooperation agreements with stakeholders that share the same goals of qualification and destiny promotion.
“This protocol will contribute to an improvement of the cultural touristic product quality through a combination with the touristic offer, especially in contemporary architecture. We have in our territory two Pritzker and very good building in heritage examples.
We challenge ourselves to conquer this big intention that is destiny’s management. This is one more prove that it is possible, with strategy and the right partners, to design projects and distribution actions of touristic flows through the territory.”
A TPNP is the responsible entity for the valorisation and development of the touristic possibilities in North and Porto. It develops also, an activity coordinated with the kind of offers that exists and the region places.
CA is a Portuguese non-profit cultural institution, made of an established partnership between different public and private entities, having as a purpose the divulgation an promotion of architecture in general, and its collections and archives. Those were acquired by CA, through exhibitions, workshops, theme visits to spaces that have an architectural interest or any ludic, cultural, touristic and social activity, that contributes to a better knowledge of the architectural, national and international heritage.
