Casa da Arquitectura participates in debate on the internationalisation of culture

The opening session will feature speeches by the Mayor of Porto, Pedro Duarte, and the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, bringing together policy makers, professionals and cultural agents for a broad reflection on the strategic role of culture in regional development.

The programme is organised into two discussion panels, both moderated by Inês Cardoso. Panel I will feature Beatriz Álvarez, Maria de Fátima Lambert, Marlene Vieira, Patrícia Vasconcelos, Paulo Dias and Rui Couceiro, promoting an initial approach to the dynamics of cultural internationalisation.

Panel II will feature Nuno Sampaio, executive director of Casa da Arquitectura, whose intervention will reinforce the importance of architecture as a cultural discipline with a strong impact on international projection and territorial cohesion. This panel will also include Miguel Guedes, Nuno Malheiro, Philippe Vergne and Regina Pessoa, ending with a question and answer session open to the public.

The meeting also includes a musical interlude with soloists from the Porto Symphony Orchestra / Casa da Música — Ilária Vivan (harp) and Alex Auer (flute) — followed by a coffee break in the South Foyer.
