The Marques da Silva Foundation opens two new exhibitions
According to the institution, the two proposals are distinguished by their spatiality, by the ways in which they appropriate and reimagine the spaces of the Marques da Silva Foundation, as well as by the process and the material that serves as the vehicle and body for what is presented within them. Despite these differences, both draw on architectural and urban settings and establish points of contact by drawing on the institution’s documentary archives and the construction of fictionalised landscapes that underpin the proposed narratives.
“WHAT IF?... Constellations of Ways of Experiencing Urban Space” proposes a reflection on different ways of inhabiting and experiencing the city, bringing together multiple perspectives on urban space and its possibilities. Meanwhile, “FRONTISPIECE | PRECIPICE” presents itself as an intervention that explores the relationship between architecture, image and narrative, engaging with the historical and spatial context of the Lopes Martins Mansion.
