Manuel Pizarro defends support of the Portuguese State to Casa da Arquitectura
The visit to Casa da Arquitectura was intended to “assess the current context of Casa and mobilize the intervention of the Portuguese State, in order to ensure the conditions for the functioning of the institution, deeply disturbed by the COVID-19 pandemic”.
The President of the District of PS Porto defended, during the visit, “real support from the Portuguese State through a financing protocol, with immediate effect” and that works “as an emergency solution.”
Manuel Pizarro defended, during the visit, that the Casa da Arquitectura deserves specific support from the Portuguese State through a financing protocol, with immediate effect and that works “as an emergency solution”. However, “a structural solution must be developed, with the entry of the State as an effective member of Casa”. Manuel Pizarro considers that the fact that Casa da Arquitetura is located in the district of Porto cannot be a reason for the state support to be delayed, hoping not to have to say that “if Casa da Arquitetura were in Lisbon, this funding would already be assured”, reads the Press Release sent to journalists.
Deputy Pedro Bacelar de Vasconcelos announced that the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party will address a question to the Government about support for the financing and development of Casa da Arquitetura.
