21st Fernando Távora Prize

The Northern Regional Section of the Portuguese Architects Association (OASRN) invites everyone to attend the Award Ceremony of the 21st edition of the Fernando Távora Prize, taking place on October 20, Monday, at 6:30 PM, in the Main Hall of the Matosinhos City Hall. Admission is free, upon prior registration.

The program includes a special lecture by Joel Cleto, archaeologist, historian, and communicator, invited to the jury as a prominent cultural figure from outside the field of architecture. His lecture, entitled “Journey… an Infinitely Fleeting Moment”, will offer an inspiring reflection on the spirit of discovery that the Fernando Távora Prize has celebrated since its inception.

The jury for this edition is composed of Joel Cleto; Andrea Soutinho, architect nominated by the Marques da Silva Foundation; Miguel Judas, architect nominated by the Casa da Arquitectura; Michele Cannatà, architect representing the Northern Regional Section of the Portuguese Architects Association; and João Moura Martins, representing the family of architect Fernando Távora.

The Fernando Távora Prize — established in honor of one of the most influential Portuguese architects — annually distinguishes a travel proposal for research purposes, emphasizing knowledge and experience as drivers of personal and professional growth.

The initiative is organized in partnership with the Matosinhos City Council, Casa da Arquitectura, and the Marques da Silva Foundation, and is sponsored by Ageas Seguros.

Date: October 20 (Monday), 6:30 PM
Venue: Main Hall of Matosinhos City Hall
