Luis Ferreira Alves Prize with over 1000 submissions from 80 countries
Two very important moments mark the 2025 calendar. On 28 June, the official announcement of the winners will take place at Casa da Arquitectura, the competition's Strategic Partner. The event will include a screening of the winning photographic series, the presence of the judges - Eduardo Souto de Moura, Hélène Binet and Paulo Catrica - as well as representatives of the promoting, sponsoring and cultural organisations.
On September 12, the official award ceremony will take place at Casa dos 24 in Porto, accompanied by the inauguration of the exhibition of the distinguished projects and the launch of the catalogue for the 2025 edition. The exhibition will remain open to the public until November, enriched with critical texts and interpretative essays.
The Prize, a tribute to the life and legacy of Luis Ferreira Alves, has the support of various cultural and institutional organisations, reaffirming his commitment to art, memory and contemporary architecture. The initiative is organised by Porto City Council and Cityscopio - Associação Cultural, in close collaboration with the heirs of Luis Ferreira Alves. It also has Casa da Arquitectura as a Strategic Partner and the support of various cultural, academic and business organisations, including FAUP, CCDRN, FIMS, Ordem dos Arquitetos, CIN, BPI, Canon, Metro do Porto and AMAG.
