Casa da Arquitetura’s rebranding wins a Silver award at the Meios & Publicidade Awards

Unveiled in March this year, the new visual identity represents much more than a mere graphic update. Conceived as an integrated approach to Casa da Arquitetura’s communications, it establishes a consistent, flexible visual system designed to meet the institution’s diverse communication needs, reinforcing its positioning and profile both nationally and internationally.

“A decade is long enough to consolidate an identity and a presence, but also to take stock and break new ground. This rebranding reflects this desire to renew Casa da Arquitetura’s commitment to contemporary issues and to the challenges facing the region and its culture,” said Nuno Sampaio, executive director of Casa da Arquitetura, at the project’s launch.

Developed by Studio Eduardo Aires, the new visual identity system is based on a set of iconographic, typographic and chromatic elements designed to ensure coherence and consistency over time. At the heart of the brand lies a symbol resulting from the formal refinement of the letters ‘C’ and ‘A’, giving rise to a hybrid form that bridges typography and architectural language and which can be interpreted as an open door, reflecting the institution’s values of hospitality, accessibility and openness,

The graphic system has been designed to adapt to a wide range of contexts and communication media, utilising a modular structure and a contemporary visual language that ensure flexibility without compromising the consistency of the identity. The introduction of yellow as the corporate colour enhances the brand’s visibility and conveys energy, renewal and openness.

The rebranding comes at a time when Casa da Arquitetura is consolidating its position as a leading cultural platform, with a growing international profile and a programme that promotes dialogue between architecture, the built environment, industry and society. “We want Casa da Arquitetura to be both a place of memory and a barometer of contemporary life,” emphasised Nuno Sampaio.

The award presented by the Meios & Publicidade 2026 Awards recognises the work carried out by Studio Eduardo Aires and Casa da Arquitetura in building a contemporary identity, capable of keeping pace with the institution’s evolution and reinforcing its standing amongst different audiences.
