Feeling Architecture: Tactile Model Promotes Cultural Inclusion and Accessibility
The model was part of a tour of the Quarteirão's physical space, and was crucial in helping participants understand the scale of the buildings and explore the architecture of the site. This visit allowed participants to get a sense of the space and feel the architecture, in a guided tour of the different spaces of the House through a sensory experience of exploring the building's textures and materials.
This model will continue to be used in the future in activities for the visually impaired, thus enhancing their integration into cultural activities and promoting a more inclusive society, with equal opportunities in access to knowledge, culture and architecture.
The tactile model will also serve to raise awareness among audiences without visual impairments of the importance of integrating all members of society in cultural enjoyment. It will also be used to support other guided tours and activities that will reach a wider audience, including children and senior citizens.
