September sustainability month at Casa da Arquitectura

Casa da Arquitectura dedicates the month of September to the theme of sustainability in architecture with two distinct moments: the 2nd edition of "Build - From High to Low Tech" on 15 and 16 September; and on 29 and 30 September an International Seminar curated by architect Paulo Moreira and supported by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action.

The theme of sustainability has been gaining relevance in architecture and is today a central issue in debates around architectural practices. Aware of the unavoidability of the theme, Casa da Arquitectura is a strategic partner of the 2nd edition of the "Build - From High to Low Tech" meeting, which during the days of September 15 and 16 promises to "revolutionise the perspective around materials and technology in architecture" with an intense programme of conferences, workshops, exhibition of materials and satellite events.

Organised by Hinterland, Build will bring to Casa da Arquitectura names such as Fernando Romero, Amin Taha, Markus Zilker, José Toral, Ignacio Rojas, Christian Schmitt and Roger Boltshauser, among others. Tickets for the meeting can be purchased here

In the last two days of September, the approach to sustainability issues will be on the side of construction and reuse at different scales - from materials, to construction, to design. The meeting will bring together architects and researchers to discuss built, research or speculative projects.

The programme, curated by architect Paulo Moreira, will create a video installation at Casa da Arquitectura and include workshops for children.

The debates will take place throughout the 29th and include two talks with a broad and representative panel of personalities and companies linked to this area.

Admission is free subject to capacity.
