On 24 and 25 October, Casa da Arquitectura will host the 7th Meeting on ‘Cities, Architecture and Archives in the Ibero-American Context’, an initiative that promotes dialogue between archivists, architects, researchers and professionals linked to architecture and urban planning.
With registration open until 22 October, the meeting aims to deepen reflection and knowledge production in the Ibero-American space, strengthening the bridges between architectural practice and the preservation and communication work carried out in archives. Register HERE.
Over two days, the event will address the importance of collaboration between creators and guardians of architectural memory, emphasising the role of archives as places of exchange and mediation of knowledge, fundamental to understanding the evolution of architecture and urbanism.
The programme also includes the launch of the digital book Cidades, Arquitetura e Arquivos no Contexto Ibero-americano (Cities, Architecture and Archives in the Ibero-American Context), coordinated by Paulo Batista and Paulo Tormenta Pinto, resulting from the 4th Meeting held in 2022, also at Casa da Arquitectura. Paulo Batista's work Arquitetura em Lisboa (Architecture in Lisbon) will also be presented by Joana Bastos Malheiro and Paula André.
Since its creation, the Meeting has travelled to several Portuguese cities, including Évora (2019), Lisbon (2020), Matosinhos (2021 and 2022), Loulé (2023) and Cascais (2024), establishing itself as a privileged space for sharing experiences, collaborative projects and networking.
