17 July 2025
The transformation of the city of Porto over the last 10 years and the contribution of architecture/Rivoli Theatre
The Porto City Council and Casa da Arquitectura have once again joined forces to develop the second edition of the Porto de Arquitetura initiative, which included six guided tours and ends with an international conference to be held on the 17th at the Porto Municipal Theatre – Rivoli. Admission is free, upon prior registration.
The Porto Architecture conference marks the culmination of a series of visits to some of the emblematic works that have transformed the experience of the city of Porto in recent years.
From single-family housing to large facilities and services, including the redevelopment of public spaces, this journey has provided a practical immersion, highlighting how architecture can directly impact the well-being, comfort, accessibility and connectivity of citizens.
On 17 July, the Rivoli Theatre will host a moment of reflection and debate on the urban transformation of the last decade. Bringing together professionals from different fields, an open discussion will be held on the role of architecture in building a more humane city – pleasant and suitable for living, working and studying.
At a time when urban challenges are becoming increasingly complex, Porto de Arquitetura invites us to reflect on the quality of urban life in the present and, through architecture, how to structure the future of the city, seeking innovative guidelines and sustainable solutions.
