The Casa da Arquitectura – Portuguese Centre for Architecture will incorporate the collection of architect Camilo Rebelo (b. 1972). The ceremony is scheduled for 4 November at 5.30 pm at the Álvaro Siza Space.
A key figure in contemporary Portuguese architecture, Camilo Rebelo has built a body of work that is widely recognised nationally and internationally, marked by conceptual depth, a relationship with the territory and the poetic dimension of space. In addition to his professional practice, the architect has been intensely involved in teaching at educational institutions in Lausanne, Mendrisio, Milan and Shanghai, among others, since early in his career.
This incorporation represents a living and expanding donation that will accompany the future development of the studio. Eighteen projects will be integrated, covering 20 years of work (2000–2020), which reflect the evolution and coherence of Camilo Rebelo's architectural career.
Among the projects included are emblematic works such as the Côa Museum in Portugal and Promise in Grândola, as well as international projects and competitions carried out in Switzerland, Greece, Poland and the United States.

After the ceremony, Camilo Rebelo's new book, AKIK, edited by Pedro Leão Neto and published by scopio Editions, will be presented. The presentation will feature a conversation between Camilo Rebelo, Nuno Sampaio and Pedro Leão Neto, moderated by Isa Clara Neves.
Continuing the line of reflection begun with the volume OLIM, the book AKIK expands the architect's thinking in a more essayistic and intimate register, exploring how ideas emerge, organise themselves and transform into architectural material. More than a book about works, AKIK offers an immersion into the creative process, the tensions between intuition, memory and construction, and the search for the poetic meaning of space. The book AKIK will be available for sale during the session and at the Casa da Arquitectura shop.
