“Crossed Dialogues” had two acts, in two different locations - at the Serralves Foundation on January 10, and at Casa da Arquitectura on January 11. In each session, one of the architects will discuss the work of the other, through the critical lens of both exhibitions, in conversation with a world-renowned historian and architecture critic. Eduardo Souto de Moura talked about Álvaro Siza with Kenneth Frampton and Álvaro Siza discussed the work of Souto de Moura with Francesco Dal Co.
In this way, the simultaneous presence of major retrospective exhibitions on the works of Álvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura, at both institutions - between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 - was celebrated, and the numerous cross references between these were debated. Two Portuguese architects, both awarded with the Pritzker Prize.
