Next Saturday, 2 August, the summer experiences that combine architecture, landscape and sea return to two of the most iconic spaces designed by Álvaro Siza: the Boa Nova Tea House and the Tidal Pool in Leça da Palmeira.
The visits are guided by a specialist architect and conducted in Portuguese, providing a sensitive and informed interpretation of the works and their context.

Guided tour of the Boa Nova Tea House
Available times: 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Designed by Álvaro Siza in the 1950s, the Boa Nova Tea House is a landmark of modern Portuguese architecture. Anchored to the rocks of the Matosinhos coast, the building blends sublimely into the landscape, tracing a choreographed path between the built and the natural. Inside, the atmosphere evokes an affective and intimate landscape, where the sea is a constant presence. Classified as a National Monument since 2011, it currently houses the restaurant of chef Rui Paula, distinguished with two Michelin stars.

The Tidal Pool, built in the 1960s, is one of Álvaro Siza's most renowned works. Located on the coastline and in perfect harmony with the surrounding terrain and rocks, it reveals the architect's mastery of natural space and control of the user experience. The brutalist yet deeply sensitive composition transforms the visit into a true immersion in the landscape. The work has also been a National Monument since 2011.
