The exhibition "Paulo: Beyond Drawing - Conversing with Paulo Mendes da Rocha" opened to the public on 26 May 2023 at the Casa Gallery, curated by Rui Furtado and Marta Moreira and designed by Ricardo Bak Gordon. "Paulo: Beyond Drawing" offers visitors the chance to gain a broader perspective of the Brazilian architect's vision of the world and his reflections on the many themes that occupied him and ultimately explain his work.

According to the curators, "Paulo Mendes da Rocha's discourse is a position on existence itself, on life. More than a discipline, for Paulo architecture is a way of existing. The premise of the exhibition at the Gallery is not the organisation of an exhibition, but rather the creation of an event. The aim is to give visitors the opportunity to have the most intimate experience with Paulo, allowing them to hear his vision of the world and his reflections on the many themes that have occupied him and that ultimately explain his work. Before or after visiting the main exhibition."

In parallel to "Paulo: Beyond Drawing", another exhibition "Constructed Geographies: Paulo Mendes da Rocha" is also on display. Parallel to the exhibitions, there will be a programme of activities curated by architect Nuno Sampaio, CA's Executive Director and Commissioner-General, and architect Catherine Otondo, responsible for the organisation of the Paulo Mendes da Rocha collection.
