Summer Workshops 2022

The Casa da Arquitectura Summer Workshops are about to begin!
The Casa da Arquitectura Education Service has prepared a set of four summer workshops with different approaches for children aged 6 to 12, which will take place between 4 July and 26 August.

This year our offer extends over a week, in the mornings and/or afternoons. For a  For a two-week subscription the price is special and the programme covers a total of four workshops, ranging from drawing, to constructing models and creating modular design objects. Each week ends with an exhibition of the works at a snack shared with parents and/or grandparents.

Workshop: Drawing Workshop

If you can see it, you can draw it. Eyes wide open! Have you seen how drawing is everywhere? During this workshop we will learn various drawing techniques, from charcoal to pencil and other materials that will surprise you. We'll start by drawing buildings and people in the Real Vinícola block, and then we'll let our hands and lines loose in games and experiments that will challenge you. Are you ready? Let's go, artists!

Workshop: A Tailor-Made House

Building a house requires a lot of attention! Starting from the moment the project begins until it is finally inhabitable, all the stages have an order. In this workshop we invite you to bring a toy/puppet that will be the character for which you will build a house. From the foundations to the openings, floors and glass, through furniture, carpets and plants - there's lots to invent! What if it rains at the end? Or if there's a lot of wind? Build it with care!

Workshop: Modular Design

Nature has a lot to teach us! In this workshop we will take inspiration from the geometries and patterns found in the natural world to create shapes and modules that combined allow for surprising constructions. From small modules that we will use to create utilitarian objects, to large modules that will allow installations that are bigger than us! What if the module was an object from our everyday life, which repeated will build other larger objects? Curious? We will add, assemble, disassemble and, in the end, test it!

Workshop: Forest house

Who has never dreamed of a tree house?  At Casa da Arquitectura we can also dream. In this workshop we will build a town raised from the ground, in an enchanted forest full of green leaves, paths, shadows, and even some animals! We'll need ladders and bridges, walkways and lots of stakes to hold everything together without falling over! Will your house be camouflaged? Come ready to get dirty, we need to collect grass, soil, stones and flowers and at the end we still need to paint!

100 euros for the whole week (mornings + afternoons)
