Easter workshops
During the Easter holidays, Casa da Arquitectura opens its doors to imagination with a special two-week programme of workshops designed for curious, creative children who are eager to explore.
Week 30 March-2 April
Week 6-10 April
Recommended audience: Children aged 6 to 12
30 March to 2 April
Morning: The shapes of nature
In these activities, participants are invited to immerse themselves in the universe of nature and organic shapes, where imagination and construction intersect. Through the exploration of textures and volumes, we develop constructive skills collectively, in order to unveil new possibilities for inhabiting and reinventing the natural world.
Afternoon: Animal City
In this workshop, children are invited to enter the world of architecture through the eyes of animals. It all starts with the creation of an imaginary animal: What does it look like? Where does it live? Is it big or small? Does it have wings, paws or scales? Based on these characteristics, each participant will be challenged to build a tailor-made shelter for their animal, exploring different materials, shapes and textures.
6 to 10 April
Morning: Colouring Architecture
Colour has the power to transform the world around us. Just as flowers bloom and paint the landscape, architecture also comes to life through colour. In these workshops, we will explore the act of colouring in a creative and experimental way. We will immerse ourselves in discovering the effects of colour — how it mixes, overlaps and creates different atmospheres — and transform colour into space through painting, collage and composition experiments. Let's create a universe full of colour!
Afternoon: Spaces with meaning(s)
We are often asked: What are you doing? Where are you looking? What are you thinking about? We are rarely asked: What are you feeling? By drawing maps, we will discover spaces that make us feel free and constricted, lost and found, amazed and frightened. In this workshop, we will explore how architecture can transform what we see, but also what we feel inside.
** On the last afternoon of each week of workshops, Espaço Caleidoscópio opens its doors to family and friends for an exhibition of the work developed! **
