Painting Course
Casa da Arquitectura's Painting Course explores this ancient medium as a tool for representation, but also for expression. Recognising the individuality of each person, the aim is to study this aspect, combining it with equally important technical and artistic knowledge. By fostering moments of reflection and exposure, exploring the mental spaces we inhabit in a critical way and encouraging the proposal of creative solutions to the challenges encountered, we intend this programme to be an ideal moment to hone one's passion for and knowledge of painting and for Casa da Arquitectura to become a space for self-expression through it.
Basic concepts of gouache painting
From colour theory to painting objects, we'll explore the basics of painting with gouache.
Introduction to Acrylic Painting genres
From landscapes, still life, portraits and the human figure, we'll explore different genres of painting with acrylic paint.
Introduction to oil and oil painting styles
Introducing the oil technique, we'll explore different styles of painting, from figurative to simplified and abstract, including micro and macro painting.
References and own oil production
Reintroducing the oil technique, we'll explore the creation of reference banks, then move on to self-production in oil.
October and November: Introduction to painting and basic concepts in gouache
January and February: Introduction to the genres of acrylic painting
March and April: Introduction to oil and oil painting styles
May and June: References and own oil production
You can enrol for individual modules or several.
At the end of each module, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
Timetable: Thursday from 7pm to 10pm
Age group: from 12 years old and with no age limit
Recipients: those with or without experience
Price: 90€ / module
Discounts:
10% for enrolment in all modules
10% for family members
Minimum number of participants: 10
If there is not the minimum number of participants per module, the course will not take place and the registration fee will be refunded.

Teacher's biographical note:
Rita Galante, bilingual (CPE Cambridge).
She has a degree in Fine Arts - Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of UP, a postgraduate degree in Art Therapy and Community Art from Metàfora, Barcelona and is currently studying for a Master's degree in Relational Art Psychotherapy at the same school in Barcelona. Since 2016, she has pursued a comprehensive and dynamic career in art education, having worked in international schools, forest schools, kaospilot schools, museums, free workshops for children and doctoral projects in psychology, as well as in personal art education, art therapy and visual arts projects.
