Summer Workshops 2023

The summer vacations at Casa da Arquitectura are about to begin!

Casa da Arquitectura's Educational Service has prepared a program of playful and pedagogical workshops for children between the ages of 6 and 12, which will run from July 10 to September 8, 2023.
These workshops encourage exploration and development of drawing, collage, sculpture, and maquette construction that explore different possibilities in the perception of space at different scales.

Our monitors guide participants to appreciate the creative qualities of the built and natural environment and use artistic techniques to express their own ideas. This experience provides a very fun environment to learn new skills, develop critical thinking, and promote teamwork.

The vacation program at Casa da Arquitectura is structured in four workshop groups with the goal of challenging children to explore different S-M-L-XL scales. Each workshop group is developed weekly in the morning or afternoon. Children can participate in each workshop group separately, but ideally they should follow the proposed sequence for a better enjoyment of the experience.

We start with the S workshops in the exploration of our body as the first spatial container, we continue with the M workshops in the recognition of the closest space we inhabit, then the L workshops expand to the scale of the city, and we conclude with the XL workshops in the relationship of our body with the space we inhabit and with nature.

In the last session of each workshop group, we prepare an exhibition and present the projects, in a moment of sharing with families.

Extension Period:

The team of Casa da Arquitectura's Educational Service, ensures the reception of the children enrolled the whole day from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The reception of the children enrolled in the morning workshops is carried out from 8:30 am until 10 am, and the workshops will be developed from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
The reception of the children enrolled in the afternoon workshops is held from 5:00 pm until 5:30 pm, and the workshops will be developed from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

Meals:
Lunches are not included in the total fee. Participants can bring lunch from home or add the lunch service for 6€/day.
We recommend that participants bring a snack for the morning break and another one for the afternoon break.

Recommended audience:
Children from 6 to 12 years old.
