The Álvaro Siza itinerary takes in the architect's initiatory works in Matosinhos, providing a sense of place that values direct experience, recognition of the context and the author's ideas and intentions.

Boa Nova Tea House
Can you imagine a building that one time is hidden, and another revealed among rocks, in a close articulation with the sea? Classified as a National Monument, the Boa Nova Tea House is one of the first works by Álvaro Siza, having become an ex-libris in international architecture guides.

Tidal Swimming Pool
A sensorial labyrinth that takes us to a swimming pool inserted in the natural landscape. A route that begins as an element of urban landscape and culminates in the unavoidable Leça da Palmeira swimming pools. A unique experience of relationship with the sea at its fullest.

Quinta da Conceição Swimming Pool
Addressing the relationship between teacher and student, the swimming pool designed by Álvaro Siza completes Fernando Távora's intervention at Quinta da Conceição, where the Tennis Pavilion is also located, a sort of manifesto of the transition between tradition and modernity.

Roberto Ivens House
Casa Roberto Ivens allows us to travel back to Álvaro Siza's youth, having been the home where he spent his adolescence. In 1961, he remodeled the house on behalf of his parents, initiating a harmonious dialog between the old and the modern that reveals the architect's critical and precocious sensibility.
