5th Anniversary: Environment and architecture on the agenda until 27 November

Until then, on Wednesday, November 23, we welcome several notable speakers for a very timely debate on "Sustainability of Heritage and Cities", featuring the Minister of the Environment and Climate Action, Duarte Cordeiro.
Framed within the partnership between the Portuguese State and the Casa da Arquitectura and corresponding to a line of action articulated with the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Action, the meeting aims to reflect on how architecture can and should adapt to policies that contribute to an improvement in environmental performance and the quality and sustainability of the territory.
Through presentations of case studies of policies and concrete actions, the aim is to think about the intervention in the heritage, in the territory and in the architecture of cities.
Alexandra Carvalho, Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, Finn Mortensen, Executive Director State of Green, José Carlos Bessa, Director Department of Cultural Goods DGPC, Luísa Salgueiro, President National Association of Municipalities, Bruno Veloso, ADENE and Paula Santos, Vice-President of the National Board of Directors Order of Architects will participate in the debate.
The architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça will be in the spotlight on November 26, Saturday, at 3pm. Over 30 personalities of architecture will join in a Flashback Marathon to talk about the author of the Lisbon Cruise Terminal. Right after that, at 5:30pm, the catalog of the exhibition "Flashback / Carrilho da Graça" will be launched, with the participation of the exhibition curator and scientific coordinator of the publication, Marta Sequeira.
The closing day of the 5th Anniversary festivities, Sunday, November 27th, will be marked by the donation ceremony of the collections of José Gigante and Jorge Gigante, which will take place from 5pm on, in the space of Tanoaria, and will include the interventions of Nuno Sampaio, Nuno Valentim and André Gigante.
But there is much more happening in these days of celebration. Check the program to be in the know.
