82 Metro stations at Casa

The collection arrived at the Casa da Arquitectura Archive on the 28th of November.
The signing of the Concession Agreement took place at Casa da Arquitectura (in the Real Vinícola Quarter, Matosinhos), which opened its doors to the public on the 17th (from 9.30 pm), 18th and 19th of November.
In the event, Metro do Porto was represented by its president, Jorge Moreno Delgado, and the director, Pedro Azeredo Ferreira Lopes, the president and the executive director of Casa da Arquitectura, respectively José Manuel Dias da Fonseca and Nuno Sampaio and the Mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro.
The “Metro Stations” Architectural Elements Collection of Metro do Porto consists of models, photographs and graphic designs, mainly in digital files, relating to all relevant project phases and whose authors are architects Adalberto Dias, Álvaro Siza, Castro Calapez, José Bernardo Távora, José Gigante, Manuel Fernandes Sá, Rui Passos Mealha, Rogério Cavaca, Souto de Moura, Alcino Soutinho and João Álvaro Rocha.
The transfer of this collection to Casa da Arquitectura followed the opening of its new premises, where it is possible to ensure the proper deposit and treatment of collections such as that of Metro do Porto, of manifest architectural and cultural relevance.
With the inauguration of the new space, Casa da Arquitectura assumed its vocation as a Portuguese Centre for Architecture, becoming the only non-profit cultural entity exclusively dedicated to architecture that, in Portugal, brings together, in a single space, archive and exhibition areas.
