Casa da Arquitectura reopens on 9th June
Create security
In order to ensure the safety of visitors and workers, strict measures will be adopted, giving the necessary confidence to those who visit us. In addition to the reduced capacity, there will be a mandatory disinfection at the entrance and mandatory use of a mask, eventually delivered by CA if the visitor has none in his possession.
Programme reschedule
The schedule of the events was subject to a review and all the announced projects will be rescheduled. The exhibition “Souto de Moura - Memory, Projects, Works”, which was programmed to end in September, will run until March 2021, making up for the time it was closed, and activities that did not take place during this period will be rescheduled still during the exhibition's permanence time, always adopting the contingency plan created by Casa da Arquitectura. CA will continue to bet on digital to reach even more audiences and all events will be streamed.
Among the main changes in the schedule, it is worth noting the postponement of Open House Porto to 3 and 4 July 2021, as well as the inevitable resizing of the 3rd Anniversary of Casa da Arquitectura. New exhibitions only in 2021, as is the case of the exhibitions “Radar Veneza - Portuguese Architects at the 1975-2020 Biennial” (scheduled to open on April 16) and “Guido Guidi - In Dialogue with Álvaro Siza” (March 27). Souto de Moura Itineraries will also be rescheduled in due time.
The “new” Educational Service
The reopening of Casa da Arquitectura coincides with the inauguration of the new installations of the Educational Service – Kaleidoscope Space, which underwent a major remodelling with design by Carvalho Araújo - Arquitectura e Design, construction by Iduna and materials donated by Sonae Arauco.
Alongside the renewed space, the Educational Service redesigned a series of activities that will come to life online, with the common point of stimulating interest in architecture in a playful, creative and educational way. These activities will be announced in due course, be aware!
