The number of visitors increased over the days. On the night of the opening of the doors to the public, on the 17th, more than 2 300 entries were registered in the block, which added up, on the following day, 18 November, to over 4 thousand.
On Sunday, 19 November, Casa da Arquitectura's inaugural programme attracted more than 5 800 people who spread across the multiple free-entry activities that were available all weekend.
With dozens of activities open to the public, the number of those circulating between various spaces was increased. A continuous flow of visitors travelled the 800 square meters of the Exhibition Hall, where the exhibition Power Architecture, curated by Jorge Carvalho, Pedro Bandeira and Ricardo Carvalho, was on display until 18 March 2018. Likewise, the second exhibition, on display at the Casa Gallery, the X Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Biennial, was the target of the curiosity of the public who visited the Quarter. X BIAU could be visited until February 4, 2018.
Among the conferences that took place in the Sala Nascente, one that was attended by architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, X BIAU commissioner Angela Paredes, architect Jorge Figueira and Nuno Sampaio, executive director of Casa da Arquitectura. In total, 571 people watched “The conversation with Eduardo Souto de Moura”.
With guided visits to different spaces almost always sold out (1 091 participants), the Educational Service of Casa da Arquitectura had no pause moments during the inaugural weekend. The various spaces associated with the Kaleidoscope Programme, which offered a range of activities for children and families, had 1589 participants on Saturday and Sunday.
