Lucio Costa’s family entrusted to Casa da Arquitectura, the estate of the Brazilian architect and urban planner, a reference figure in world architecture.

Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner sought, for voluntary collaboration, dancers or people with movement experience and strong physicality, interested in the relationship between the body and space, to participate in the performance “Bodies in Urban Spaces”, a co-production by Casa da Arquitectura and Companhia Instável, for presentation in the 4th anniversary programme of Casa da Arquitectura, on 20 and 21 November, 2021*.

Succeeding the donation of Paulo Mendes da Rocha’s collection, Casa da Arquitectura announces the organization of two simultaneous exhibitions on the work of the Brazilian Pritzker, which will open in May 2023 and will be complemented with an ambitious programme of activities inside and outside Portugal.

The Portuguese State joins Casa da Arquitectura, through a multi-annual protocol to support the institution and its activity, which involves four government areas.

“Peroguarda 58/59” is the title of the book and the name of the exhibition of photographs by Luís Ferreira Alves that opened on Saturday, 26 June, at Casa da Arquitectura, and was on display until 26 september 2021. 

The call for volunteers to the Open House Porto (OHP) ran until the 24th June. The 6th edition took place on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of July.  

It was with great pain and deep consternation that Casa da Arquitectura learned of the death of architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, our first honorary member, this morning in São Paulo, at the age of 92.

Casa's Archive resumed the on-site consultation of documents from 14th april.
