The "ManifestHabitação" exhibition, promoted by Matosinhos City Council and MatosinhosHabit, Empresa Municipal de Habitação, opens on 9 December and will run until 30 June 2024 at the former Vasco da Gama factory (Avenida Menéres, 627, in Matosinhos). Admission is free.

The Portuguese State has renewed and diversified its support for Casa da Arquitectura - Centro Português de Arquitectura with 3.3ME for the three-year period 2024-2026. This decision was formalised today in a protocol in the presence of the Minister for Culture, Pedro Adão e Costa, the Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato and the Minister for Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa.

From 28 November, the Luis Ferreira Alves Space at Casa da Arquitectura will host the exhibition "No Place is a Desert. Álvaro Siza: Piscina das Marés", which will run until 2 January 2024. The opening of the exhibition will take place at 18h00. Admission is free.

It is with great consternation and sadness that Casa da Arquitectura says goodbye to Danilo Santos de Miranda, director of SESC São Paulo for 40 years, one of the most important producers of culture in Brazil, who passed away yesterday at the age of 80.

Editora Monolito, with the support of Casa da Arquitectura, will launch issue #57/58 of the magazine entitled "Paulo Mendes da Rocha: houses" on 5 October at 7pm, featuring 71 projects designed by the Brazilian Pritzker and Honorary Associate of Casa da Arquitectura.

On 15 and 16 September, Casa da Arquitectura will host the 2nd edition of Build - From High to Low Tech.
The theme of sustainability has become increasingly important in architecture and is now a central issue in debates about architectural practices.  

 Casa da Arquitectura dedicates the month of September to the theme of sustainability in architecture with two distinct moments: the 2nd edition of "Build - From High to Low Tech" on 15 and 16 September; and on 29 and 30 September an International Seminar curated by architect Paulo Moreira and supported by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action.

Jean-Louis Cohen, French architect, historian and curator unanimously considered one of the greatest authorities on the history of architecture and urbanism of the 20th century, passed away yesterday at the age of 74. Cohen was co-curator of the exhibition currently showing at Casa da Arquitectura, "Constructed Geographies: Paulo Mendes da Rocha", one of his last works.

The Luis Ferreira Alves space at the Casa da Arquitectura hosts, from 7 September to 14 October, the exhibition "Siza and Oscar: Beyond the Sea", an unprecedented show by award-winning Brazilian photographer José Roberto Bassul. Admission to the exhibition is free.

On 12 July, Casa da Arquitectura and AICCOPN signed a Cooperation Protocol under which they intend to ensure and boost greater commitment and involvement in institutional relations between the two entities and their members and associates, enhancing joint actions and opportunities, with a view to greater visibility and recognition of their respective areas of work.

The eighth edition of Open House Porto, organised by Casa da Arquitectura, attracted more than 17,000 visits to the 52 spaces on the itinerary during 1 and 2 July, to the great satisfaction of the organisation and curators, this year in charge of Pedro Baía and Magda Seifert.

The complete works of Álvaro Siza will be edited and published by Casa da Arquitectura with the support of the Ministry of Culture.

Casa da Arquitectura and its Activity Plan have been recognised by the Ministry of Culture as an entity of Cultural Interest for the year 2023.

The 2nd Education through Architecture Meeting will take place on 16 June at the Casa da Arquitectura, one of the pioneering entities to integrate the EPA: Education through Architecture network.

The opening of two new exhibitions dedicated to the work and person of Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha at the Casa da Arquitectura on 26, 27 and 28 May is the reason for a weekend of open doors and programming for all ages.

This is Paulo Mendes da Rocha's year at the Casa da Arquitectura. On May 26, two exhibitions dedicated to the Brazilian Pritzker open to the public.

The exhibition "Objects by Architects" opens to the public on 19 April, in the Espaço Ferreira Alves, in the Casa da Arquitectura, a small selective showcase of about 90 authorial pieces signed by names such as Álvaro Siza, Eduardo Souto de Moura and Paulo Mendes da Rocha, among many others. Admission is free.

Casa da Arquitectura repeats this year's participation in the Days of Dance Festival (DDD), which will take place 21 to 30 April in eight different spaces in the cities of Porto, Matosinhos and Vila Nova de Gaia.

Open House Porto (OHP) returns on 1 and 2 July curated by Pedro Baía and Magda Seifert, under the theme of "brand new in architecture". The call for volunteers is open until 16 April.

The Unbuilt Matosinhos Photography Roadmap will be held on April 1st, between 2pm and 6pm and aims to offer architecture and photography lovers a unique opportunity to get to know a set of reference works in Matosinhos. 

An adapted version of the exhibition "Souto de Moura - Memory, Projects, Works", which was on show at Casa da Arquitectura between October 2019 and March 2021 and was visited by 34,000 people, opens on 22 March in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

On the 3rd of March 2023, 10:00 am, the General Assembly of Casa da Arquitectura Association has a meeting.

The RTP2 documentary "Luis Ferreira Alves: Um Olhar Construído" by Victor Neves and Carlos Lopes, directed by Ricardo Gonçalves and produced by Até ao Fim do Mundo, will be previewed at the Casa da Arquitectura on Saturday, January 21, at 4:30pm, in the Tanoaria space. Admission is free.

"Journey of an Architect" is the title of the exhibition dedicated to Eduardo Souto de Moura's work that opens on 17 January in Seoul, South Korea, under a collaboration agreement between Casa da Arquitectura - Centro Português de Arquitectura, the Seoul Hall of Urbanism and Architecture and the support of the Portuguese Embassy in Seoul.
