New Collections and Souto de Moura's Exhibition marked 2019 at Casa da Arquitectura
With an intense level of activities, for Casa da Arquitectura last year was marked by the arrival of several collections of Portuguese architects to Casa's Archive and the opening of the first monographic exhibition, dedicated to Eduardo Souto de Moura.

Casa's Archive opens its doors to the public every last friday
On every last Saturday of each month, at 11am, come and see the Archive and some pieces of our collection. Be a part of an exclusive visit with the specialized monitoring of our technical team, that illuminates our hidden treasures. The meeting point is at the Ticket Office. The visit is free but limited to 15 people. Pick up your ticket 30 minutes before the visit.

Casa da Arquitectura will have the workshop "An Open Space for Today's Theater" oriented by the set and costume designer Jean-Guy Lecat, from 7 to 10 november. -

Souto de Moura generated more than 7 500 participations during the opening weekend
The exhibition Souto de Moura – Memory, Projects, Works and the parallel programme had 7 562 participations during the opening weekend.
The parallel programme, that involved many diverse activities such as music, guided visits, debates, book releases and Educational Service's actions, registered 1 800 participations.

CP – Comboios de Portugal (Portugal Trains) is a partner of Casa da Arquitectura for the Exhibition Souto de Moura – Memory, Projects, Works that opens to the public on october 18, from 22h00. The 40 years of production sample stays in until september 6 2020. -

University of Minho receives International Congress on Architectural Archives
The Medieval Hall of the University of Minho, in the Center of Braga received, from 25 to 27 September 2019, the International Congress on Architectural Archives, with 100 participants from 17 countries, such as United Kingdom, India, Brazil, Cameroon and South Korea. -

Francisco Melo and Jorge Gigante's collection donated to Casa da Arquitectura.
The archive of the architects Francisco Melo and Jorge Gigante was donated to Casa da Arquitectura, at a ceremony that took place on July 11. The assets donated are drawings and written pieces and a vast photography collection, and it represents their activity since the end of the 1950s until the beginning of the 1990s, having 152 projects of different typologies.

Casa da Arquitectura at the International Forum on Architectural Heritage
Casa da Arquitectura marked the presence in the 6th FIPA - International Forum on Architectural Heritage, in Mosteiro da Batalha between 22 and 24 May 2019. Nuno Sampaio, Executive Director (CA), participated in the round table "Internationalization of an Education for a Heritage", that happened on the 23th, at 3pm. The panel had also names as Alexandra Leitão, State and Education Secretary and Paula Torgal, president of the South Regional Section of the Architects Order.

Casa da Arquitectura was present on the third edition of "Voix aux Images", a discussion about city and architecture, with the perspective to "see, make and live architecture in a Portuguese way", that happened on the 21st of May, between 9h15am and 5h30pm, at the French delegation of the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, in Paris. -

Open House Porto 2019 was the most visited edition of all times
The fifth edition of the Open House Porto, that occurred on June 29 and 30, mobilized 37 578 visits to the 70 spaces that were open and free in Matosinhos, Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
Organized and produced by Casa da Arquitectura, this edition was dedicated to the "Interior Life" of the cities and curated by the architects Joana Couceiro and Nuno Valentim.

Casa da Arquitectura partner of a documentary about Fernando Guerra
"O Fotógrafo Voador” (The Flying Photographer) is the title of the documentary about Fernando Guerra, currently being filmed by Building Pictures, that will have its first run at Arquitecturas Film Festival.
