A total of 12,173 people crossed the gate of the Real Vinícola Quarter, on the inaugural weekend of Casa da Arquitectura, between 9:30 pm on the 17th and 10:00 pm on the 19th of November.

Prime Minister at the opening of Casa da Arquitectura
On 15th November 2017, the Prime Minister praised Casa da Arquitetura as “an extraordinary project for the country”, noting that the equipment only made sense in Matosinhos, a municipality that “knew how to understand the unique capacity of architecture to transform the territory ”. -

The Prime Minister António Costa visited Casa da Arquitectura on 15 November, at 12:00, for the opening ceremony of the institution's Inaugural Programme, which opens its doors on 17 November, at 9:30 pm. -

Kaleidoscope open to all
During the inauguration days, the Educational Service undertook multiple activities, developing an intensive programme of guided visits to Casa da Arquitectura, Archive and Exhibitions, with guests and monitors from the educational service, as well as several recreational and educational stations for families and children , at the Espaço Kaleidoscope and involving virtual reality in partnership with the DFL – Digital Fabrication Lab of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto (FAUP).

82 Metro stations at Casa
On the 10th of November 2017, Casa da Arquitectura and Metro do Porto SA signed a Contract for the Assignment of the Collection of Architectural Elements “Metro Stations” consisting of materials relating to the 82 underground and surface metro stations, authored by several Portuguese architects.
