After a blazing start with the lesson given by Rafael Moneo, Honorary Associate of the Casa da Arquitectura, at the conference he gave on the first day of the Casa's 5th Anniversary celebrations, everything is ready for another week of activities that ends on November 27.

Casa da Arquitectura celebrates its 5th anniversary with a vast programme of celebration events completely free that will happen from the 19th to the 27th of November.

The theme of Biophilia has been chosen by Casa da Arquitectura's Educational Service for the 2022-2024 biennium programme.

The exhibition The Reasons Offsite, present at Casa da Arquitectura's Gallery since June at the will be extended until 9 October. 

It was with great sadness and consternation that Casa da Arquitectura learnt of the death of Luís Ferreira Alves, an inescapable figure in the field of architectural photography, an area in which he was a pioneer, having worked with some of the most prominent names in contemporary architecture.

Returning to the format before the pandemic, Open House Porto's seventh edition, that had architect Graça Correia and historiator Joel Cleto as curators, had over 25 thousand visits during the weekend of 2 and 3 july. 

The press conference to present the 7th edition of Open House Porto brought together the four municipalities at Casa da Arquitectura - Matosinhos, Porto, Maia and Vila Nova de Gaia - for the presentation of the program that, on the 2nd and 3rd of July under the theme "Casa", proposes a return to the pre-covid format in the 74 open spaces with a strong presence of private homes and more than half of the spaces in world premiere.

Curated and designed by the SUMMARY studio, the virtual/immaterial exhibition "The Reasons Offsite" focuses on modular and prefabricated building systems and includes the participation of Pedro Ignacio Alonso & Hugo Palmarola, Jorge Christie & Martín Alvarez, Pablo Jimenez-Moreno and Yona Friedman.

On the 13th and 14th of May, Casa da Arquitectura launched the Digital Building.
It is a set of three digital platforms that will make available, free of charge and in a bilingual version – PT and EN -, progressive access to scanned materials from the collections of the architects António Fortunato Cabral, ARS Arquitetos, Eduardo Souto Moura, Francisco Melo + Jorge Gigante, Gonçalo Byrne, João Luís Carrilho da Graça, Lucio Costa, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Pedro Ramalho, Teresa Fonseca and the photographer Luís Ferreira Alves.

The Portuguese Network of Contemporary Art – North was presented in Lisbon, comprising 13 museums, including Casa da Arquitectura.
