    It was with great sadness and consternation that Casa da Arquitectura learnt of the death of Luís Ferreira Alves, an inescapable figure in the field of architectural photography, an area in which he was a pioneer, having worked with some of the most prominent names in contemporary architecture.

    7th Open House Porto: return to the origins

    The press conference to present the 7th edition of Open House Porto brought together the four municipalities at Casa da Arquitectura - Matosinhos, Porto, Maia and Vila Nova de Gaia - for the presentation of the program that, on the 2nd and 3rd of July under the theme "Casa", proposes a return to the pre-covid format in the 74 open spaces with a strong presence of private homes and more than half of the spaces in world premiere.

    Digital Building: launch at 13 and 14 may

    On the 13th and 14th of May, Casa da Arquitectura launched the Digital Building.
    It is a set of three digital platforms that will make available, free of charge and in a bilingual version – PT and EN -, progressive access to scanned materials from the collections of the architects António Fortunato Cabral, ARS Arquitetos, Eduardo Souto Moura, Francisco Melo + Jorge Gigante, Gonçalo Byrne, João Luís Carrilho da Graça, Lucio Costa, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Pedro Ramalho, Teresa Fonseca and the photographer Luís Ferreira Alves.
