CICA 2026 Conference – Call for papers
CICA 2026 – International Conference on Architectural Criticism will bring together researchers and critics at Casa da Arquitectura – Portuguese Centre for Architecture to discuss the theme “Architectural Criticism: Resistance and Commitment”, in a hybrid format scheduled for 10–11 and 17–18 October 2026. The initiative, promoted by the CICA International Committee of Architectural Critics, has already opened the call for abstracts, inviting the presentation of case studies visited by the authors that reflect the role of criticism as a space of resistance in the contemporary context. -

PÚBLICO's 36th anniversary marked with a debate on housing at Casa da Arquitectura and Souto de Moura as director for a day
On 4 March, Casa da Arquitectura will host the conference ‘A Minha Casa’ (My Home), as part of the celebrations for the 36th anniversary of PÚBLICO. The meeting will bring together experts, policy makers and citizens to discuss the challenges of housing in Portugal at a time when access to housing is one of the central issues in contemporary society. -

Wood Architecture Prize: winner to be announced on March 12
The award ceremony for the National Wood Architecture Prize 2025 (PNAM’25) will take place on March 12 at 5:00 pm in Aveiro. A total of 20 projects were submitted to this 8th edition of the prize, which aims to distinguish permanent works built in Portugal that highlight wood as an architecturally relevant material. Casa da Arquitectura is an institutional partner. -

Casa da Arquitectura and Flip establish partnership in the parallel programme of the 24th edition of Flip
Casa da Arquitectura – Portuguese Centre for Architecture and Flip – Paraty International Literary Festival have established a partnership as part of the parallel programme for the 24th Paraty International Literary Festival (Flip), which will take place between 22 and 26 July 2026, in Paraty, Brazil. -

On 4 February, Amorim Cork Solutions and Revalu will host an exclusive webinar dedicated to the influence of natural materials — with a special focus on cork — in the new generation of contemporary buildings. -

Casa da Arquitectura participates in debate on the internationalisation of culture
Casa da Arquitectura is participating in a meeting dedicated to the theme ‘The Internationalisation of Culture and the Role of Culture in Territorial Cohesion’, which will take place on 21 January 2026, between 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm, in the Suggia Room at Casa da Música, in Porto. The event is promoted by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, as part of the 2nd edition of the Culture Forum.
